Make your way to Transylvania Mountain Chalet
Transylvania Mountain Chalet is located 30 km southwest of Brasov, at an altitude of 1291 meters, surrounded by Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains. The chalet is ideally located in a prime natural setting, just 1.4 km or a five-minute drive from Bran Castle and the town center with its restaurants.
The nearest international airport is Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport, which is approximately a 29-minute drive to TMC. Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport is served by international carriers, with flights from various European destinations taking no more than three hours.
Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, is approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Transylvania Mountain Chalet.
The third closest airport to Transylvania Mountain Chalet is Sibiu Airport, which is a 2-hour and 20-minute drive away.
We recommend taking the train directly from Baneasa or Bucharest North Train station to Brasov, a city about a 30-minute drive from Transylvania Mountain Chalet to avoid traffic jams on Valea Prahovei. We can arrange transfers to get you to the chalet free of charge. The train journey takes slightly less than 2 hours (2 hours 15 minutes to Brasov) and is a very pleasant way to see some spectacular scenery of the Carpathian Mountains.
If you’re visiting us for a longer stay or in the summer months in particular, we recommend hiring a car at the airport in Brasov or Bucharest.
This will give you the flexibility to explore the area and there are some fantastic trips to Sighisioara, Sibiu, and Brasov which are over two hours drive from Transylvania Mountain Chalet.
